TABURNO

mount

Mounte Taburno belongs to Campania’s Apennine Mountain. It covers approximately 12,000 hectares in the province of Benevento. It is separated from the mountains of Matese through the Telese Valley crossed by the river Calore, while to the south the Caudina Valley separates him from the mountains of Partenio. This fantastic area offers valuable natural resources and landscapes in a context of great historical interest, culture, and traditions. The cultivation of olives in this area dates back to the Greeks. Today the Sannio, especially the Caudina Valley, located at the foot of Taburno Mountain is one of the most fertile places for the cultivation of olive trees.

"Iuvat olea magnum Vestire Taburnum", Taburno must be covered with olive trees as mentioned in the Georgians wrote by Virgilio.

The mild climate and the favorable exposure of the hill slopes have always made this land one of the natural habitats of the olives. The soil, rich by the cover of pyroclastic material, deposited as a result of volcanic eruptions, supports a rich and varied agricultural production, which is reflected on the offer food and wine, always genuine and high organoleptic qualities.
